Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami meets PM Modi, invites him to investors’ summit in December

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and invited him to attend the “Global Investors Conference-2023” scheduled to be organised in Dehradun in the second week of December with the objective of attracting national and international investors.

Dhami said the estimated cost of the Kichha Khatima Railway Station project is Rs 1,546 crore. He requested that given the financial condition of the state, the entire cost should be borne by the Central Government. The CM also requested to release the Centre’s share of about Rs 410 crore for the in-principle agreed industrial park under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor.

He also requested the PM to keep the loan limit of externally aided projects intact. He also sought financial approval for the Jamrani Dam multipurpose project from the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs.

Dhami said in order to streamline the traffic in Dehradun and Rishikesh, there is also a request to shift the main railway station of Dehradun to Harrawala and transfer the land of the old railway station under Rishikesh to the state government. The Chief Minister requested the Prime Minister to provide financial assistance from the Central Government to the state for the Kichha Khatima Railway Station Railway Project.

Dhami said that in Haridwar, about 457 acres of land near Government of India PSU BHEL is currently not being put to any use. He requested the PM to transfer this land to the state government in view of the possibilities of industrialisation and urbanisation in Haridwar.

The Chief Minister also urged the Prime Minister to expedite the work on the Dehradun-Tehri tunnel project and expansion of Pantnagar airport.

Earlier, the Chief Minister also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and said a UCC will soon be implemented in Uttarakhand, making it the first state to do so.
